Welcome to Sua TERASIA!

TERASIA: Theatre for Traveling in the “Age of Isolation” is a collaborative project between Asian artists that launched in 2020 in the wake of the global Covid-19 pandemic. Can a transnational team co-create without crossing borders? Ever since the collective started their journey from this question, TERASIA has continued to evolve constantly with new encounters.

Looking back now, we could say that the unknown new virus that quickly spread throughout the globalized world united all nations, for once, with the cost of many deaths. In the face of the so-called “universal crisis of humankind,” bodies were isolated to prevent infection, and humans found innumerable resourceful ways to ensure the survival of both oneself and others.

Today, four years after the outbreak of the pandemic, the “Age of Isolation” seems to have passed, with border-crossing and face-to-face activities resumed almost as they were before. However, what we are witnessing right now in many parts of the world are unabated chaos and destruction, and the painful reality of deep-rooted divisions that still persist.

Sua TERASIA is a one-of-a-kind arts festival created in collaboration with people from all walks of life, bringing together diverse human beliefs and views on life and death — the themes of TERASIA’s everlasting journey. Holding fast to our belief in connections that cannot be seen, we as a collective continue to explore what humanity has in common at its core, no matter what kind of society we live in.

Here comes ten days of breathing in the same air as we perform, listen, discuss, and eat and drink together.
