Myanmar 2022
In Myanmar, multidisciplinary artist Zun Ei Phyu have worked together with the community theatre group based in Yangon, Thukhuma Khayeethee Theatre (meaning “traveller in art”), to create a piece related to the theme of “transit.” Through workshops with the young generation, this new theatre piece, လှည်းဘီးရာများ Markings of the Cartwheel, invites the audience to explore ideas about “good deeds and bad deeds” and “the present life and the next life,” using the methods of Forum Theatre.
A film of the performance and a video message from the director will be released during TERASIA Online Week 2022.

Thila Min, the director and dramaturg of this performance, shares the thoughts that went into the piece and what he hopes it will bring to the audience.
Artists
Zun Ei is a medical doctor and multidisciplinary artist. Zun Ei’s primary interest concerns public participatory art works and community art projects. Main themes of her works are social and ecological issues related to children and elderly people. During the different crises in her country and around the world, her works become involved in peace, justice and psychosocial rebuilding toward resiliency. Her artworks are collected not only locally but also internationally.
She has been involved in many international art projects and worked with different communities across South East Asia and some European countries. She is currently a fellow of Mekong Cultural Hub.
